Another great meme from Strawberry Singh as I love taking photos and I love using windlight and photoshop. So here are my answers after a fun but frustrating photo sessions at my sand box….frustrating because my Mac is playing up (but I am grateful for an excuse to buy a new slimline version).
Meme instructions: Answer the following questions about windlight settings and share some that you’ve created yourself. Don’t forget to leave a link to your post in this meme’s comments.
1- Do you use windlight while taking pictures? If not, why not?
Yes, I always use Windlight. It’s the best, quickest and easiest way to add atmosphere, depth and emotion to a photo….

2- When taking a closeup snapshot for a profile picture, which windlight preset do you use most often and 3-Which windlight presets do you use for full body portraits?
I quite like warm colours and shadows when taking close-ups but I never use the Viewer Windlights in their ‘raw’ state they are always modified. I adjust the sun and east angle to suit the scene and the mood. My favourites are modified versions of Dynamic Richness, Fine Day, Verdigris and the ‘Places’ Windlights on Firestorm.
4 – If you do landscape photography, which windlights do you use for that most often?
I like Windlights that have a vintage, retro feel so that usually means grey green ambient light with amber/peach sun …this will make sense to SL photography veterans but probably not anyone else! I use the existing Windlights as my palette base and then create my own in a kind of random Windlight mashup. I mostly use modifications of the Windlights above plus, Morning Glory & Shepherd’s Delight. These are both on Firestorm.

5 – Do you have any tricks or tips that you could share for using Windlight effectively?
I’m pretty much with Berry on this one meaning that I will play around with the pre-sets and always change the sun angle/time of day etc.
6- Have you created any windlights that you would be willing to share with us?
I would love to share my settings if anyone is interested but I must confess to being a bit of an airhead and as soon as I hear people saying ‘oh it’s really easy’ I get the shivers. Don’t get me wrong I love technology and love gadgets (most of which I eventually break or can’t figure out how to use) and uploading/downloading things into files makes me want to reach for my smelling salts.
Now …. time for a delicious cup cake and a nice cuppa English tea!
Beautiful pictures and I’d love to join you for the cupcake and tea please! 😀
love these! ❤
